The MNN

The Manitoba Neuroscience Network is led by member volunteers.  These individuals drive all network activities and initiatives.  MNN members also make up the governing body of the Society for Neuroscience Winnipeg Chapter.

The Executive Director oversees all network activities and appoints Directors of Networking and Outreach.

The Executive Director also serves as the President of the SFN Winnipeg Chapter.

 


Seminar & Visiting Speaker Series Chair

The Seminar & Visiting Speaker Series Chair is responsible for developing and implementing a seminar schedule featuring local speakers from Manitoba and visiting speakers from national and international institutes.  This includes organizing meetings and sessions between visiting speakers and resident researchers/trainees.

 


 

Outreach Director

The Outreach Director is responsible for organizing outreach activities including the Brain Bee, public lectures, Café Scientifique, MNN social media and other programs, including new initiatives.

 


 

Communications & Social Media Chair
Crystal Acosta, PhD

The Communications & Social Media (CSM) Chair promotes the visual identity of the Network and serves as the conduit for information regarding MNN seminars, programs and events.   The CSM Chair manages and maintains the MNN website and social media accounts; creates media/content for MNN socials/emails/website; facilitates trainee engagement; and assists the Outreach Director with promoting activities and undertaking new initiatives.

SFN Winnipeg Chapter 

The Chapter Executive consists of the President, Secretary and Treasurer, who are elected by SFN Winnipeg Chapter members in good standing. There is also a Council with representation from the various Chapter stakeholder campuses/institutions and students. The most recent proposed governance Bylaws can be found by clicking here.

The Chapter President also serves as the Executive Director of the Manitoba Neuroscience Network, responsible for networking, outreach and education initiatives in Manitoba with stakeholders extending beyond Chapter membership.
