Summary
Using anatomical, task-based, and resting state functional MRI data, we assess how disease and psychiatric comorbidity contribute to changes in brain structure and function. Currently, we are studying the changes associated with psychiatric comorbidity in immune-mediated inflammatory disease, including Multiple Sclerosis and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We use functional MRI to examine how emotion is related to neuronal activity in the spinal cord, currently investigating changes associated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
